Henry Adu & Associates is an independently owned tax firm in Alexandria, Virginia, with a mission rooted in giving back to the community. Active in local associations, charities, and cultural events, the firm wanted a brand identity that reflected its values and connected with the small business clients who share its commitment to making a positive impact.
To meet this need, I designed a logo that feels warm, connected, and welcoming. The mark translates seamlessly across branded materials and promotional products. The refreshed identity strengthened community recognition and supported the firm’s growth, including the opening of a new Alexandria office where services are more accessible to clients.
hand-drawn symbol
Inspired by West African patterns, I sketched by hand to create an organic symbol where no line or circle is the same — a reflection of the diverse community and clients the firm serves. The earthy palette and carefully chosen fonts convey professionalism while keeping the design approachable.
This logo was one of the toughest to conceptualize. The challenge was merging the vibrant energy of Ghanaian culture with the structured tone of the finance industry, but the result balanced both worlds.
